largescale
Sleeves, half sleeves, back and chest panels, and projects that take more than one sitting. Planned as one composition, so each session builds on the last.

Big pieces that feel like they belong on your body
A sleeve, back piece or larger tattoo changes how your whole body looks and feels. It turns separate ideas into one story that actually fits you. I focus on large, black and grey work that flows with your shape and feels intentional.
When a small piece is not enough anymore
You might have started with a few small tattoos. Now you are thinking about a half sleeve, full sleeve tattoo, or a bigger back piece. You want it to feel cohesive. Not random.
Maybe you are scrolling references, saving screenshots, but can not picture how they all come together on your arm, leg or back. Maybe you are stuck on the small vs large tattoo decision and worried about cost, time, or commitment.
That is where I come in. Large-scale work is where my eye for composition, fine line detail and realism comes together. I build pieces that read clearly from a distance and reward a close look.
Small vs large tattoo: what actually changes
A small tattoo is about a single moment. A name. A symbol. A date. It can be beautiful, but it sits where you place it.
A large tattoo is about how your body looks in motion. How shapes wrap around your arm. How the line weight shifts as your muscles move. How light and dark balance when you see the full sleeve tattoo in a mirror.
With bigger work, I am not just drawing on skin. I am designing around joints, movement and muscle so the piece moves with you.
How I build sleeves, back pieces and multi‑session work
1. Free consult: idea, placement, scale
We start with a 10–15 minute consultation, in person or over video. You show me your references and tell me what matters in the piece. I look at your existing tattoos, placement and skin.
We talk through small vs large tattoo trade‑offs: how much detail will actually hold, what needs more space, and what is better left simple. I will be honest if something is too small to age well.
You leave that chat with a clear sense of direction. If you want to move ahead, we book your first session and lock in your deposit.
2. Design: from ideas to a body‑mapped plan
For a half sleeve tattoo or full sleeve, I sketch with your anatomy in mind. I think about where your arm bends, how it looks straight, and what you see from the front, side and back.
For a tattoo back piece, I treat your spine, shoulders and waist as anchor points. The goal is to make the piece feel like it belongs there.
I work in black and grey, fine line and realism, sometimes with traditional elements. If you bring me a reference, I use it as inspiration and build something unique to you.
3. Session day: one client at a time
On the day, it is just you and me. No walk‑ins around, no rush. I place the stencil and we review it together in the mirror. This is where we make final calls on size and exact placement.
Once you are happy, I start working. You will feel the usual tattoo sensation, but I keep the pace steady and check in often. I would rather take my time and have clean lines than rush a big piece.
For large work, we usually focus on one section at a time: outline and main structure first, then shading and detail in later sessions. I tell you what we will cover that day before I begin.
4. Healing, touch‑ups and planning the next session
After each session, I go over aftercare with you in simple steps so you know exactly what to do at home. You get everything written down.
If it is my work, your touch‑up is free within one month if we need it. That is where I tighten lines, smooth small areas and make sure the piece is healing the way I want.
Multi‑session pieces are planned in a sequence, but your body and schedule come first. We space bookings so you can heal properly and actually enjoy the process.
How I approach large‑scale work
Half sleeve tattoos
Half sleeves are a strong choice when you want impact but do not want to commit to a full arm right away. They can run upper arm, lower arm, or wrap from shoulder to elbow.
I like to build half sleeves that can later grow into a full sleeve without looking like two different projects. We talk about that from the start so you do not feel boxed in later.
Full sleeve tattoos
A full sleeve tattoo is a serious commitment. It is also one of the most satisfying projects to finish. You get a complete story from shoulder to wrist, built section by section.
I often mix fine line realism with bolder blackwork shapes to keep the structure strong. That way the tattoo reads clearly from across a room and still holds small details close up.
Tattoo back pieces
A tattoo back piece gives you the most space to work with. You can go cinematic with it. Large figures, landscapes, animals, or abstract shapes that follow your spine and shoulder blades.
Because the back is flat compared to an arm, I use negative space and contrast to keep it from feeling heavy. You should be able to wear a shirt and still have parts peek out in a deliberate way.
Chest, ribs and leg sleeves
Large‑scale work is not just arms and backs. Chest panels that wrap into the shoulder, rib pieces that move when you breathe, leg sleeves that tie hip to ankle. All of these need careful planning.
My focus stays the same: black and grey, fine line, realism and traditional elements. I do not add colour or stack on quick extras that will blur the composition.
How many sessions will you need?
Every body and every design is different, so I do not give fixed promises on timing. During your consultation, I will walk you through what we can realistically do each day and how that fits your budget.
We talk about how long a full sleeve takes in terms of number of visits and healing time between them. I would rather set a realistic path and have you feel calm and informed than rush through something this visible.
Pricing, deposits and booking
My minimum charge is $200. Larger work is priced based on size and complexity. I always go over the estimate before you put money down.
Deposits are:
- $100 for small bookings
- $200 for medium
- $400 for a full‑day session
Your deposit goes toward the final price and is refundable if you reschedule with at least 72 hours' notice. If you late‑cancel or do not show, I keep the deposit and you pay a new one to rebook. There is no card on file and no extra charge beyond that.
All bookings are by appointment only at 1800 Davenport Rd, Unit 6 in Toronto. No walk‑ins. I usually book about two weeks out.
Why work with me on a big piece
I have been tattooing for six years, focusing on fine line, realism, blackwork and traditional‑inspired designs. Large‑scale work is where those skills meet: clean line, strong composition, solid healing.
I like clients who bring ideas and are open to collaboration. If something in your reference will not age well or will fight your anatomy, I will say so. I am not here to take every job. I am here to make work I stand behind on your body.
If you are in Toronto, Liberty Village, King West, Queen West or anywhere in the west end and thinking about a half sleeve tattoo, full sleeve or back piece, I would be glad to sit down and talk it through.
FAQ: Large‑scale, sleeves and multi‑session work
How long does a full sleeve take?
A full sleeve tattoo usually happens over multiple sessions. At your consult, I break the design into sections and give you a rough idea of how many days we will need and how we will space them. My goal is to pace it so you heal well and stay excited about the process.
How many sessions will my large tattoo need?
A large tattoo is almost always multi‑session. The exact number depends on placement, level of detail and how your skin sits with the needle. During your consultation in Toronto, I look at your arm, leg or back and outline a session plan so you know what to expect before you commit.
How do I budget for a large tattoo or sleeve?
You budget a large tattoo by thinking in sessions. I explain what each booking will focus on and give you an estimate for that day. Your deposit ($100, $200 or $400) goes toward the final cost, which lets you spread the spend over time instead of all at once.
Small vs large tattoo: how do I decide?
You choose between small vs large by thinking about visibility, meaning and how much detail you want. If you bring me ideas, I will tell you honestly what needs more space to hold up and what works small. In Toronto I see a lot of people start with a half sleeve and build from there.
Can I start with a half sleeve and add more later?
Yes, you can start with a half sleeve tattoo and extend it into a full sleeve later. I like planning with that in mind from day one. I design the edges so they can grow cleanly, rather than boxing you in. That way your arm still looks cohesive as we add more work over time.
Do you do colour on sleeves?
I do not do colour work. My focus is black and grey, fine line, realism and traditional‑inspired pieces. If you are looking for a colour sleeve in Toronto, I would rather you see someone who has built their craft around that so you get the right result.
What if I need to reschedule a session?
You can reschedule as long as you give me at least 72 hours' notice. Your deposit moves with the booking. If you cancel late or do not show, I keep the deposit and a new one is needed to rebook. I keep it simple so both of us know where we stand.
Do you charge for touch‑ups on large pieces?
I do not charge for touch‑ups on my own work within one month of your session. This applies whether it is a small tattoo or part of a larger sleeve or back piece. After that window, we talk about what needs doing and whether it is a minor clean‑up or a new session.
Where are you located for large tattoo work in Toronto?
I work by appointment at 1800 Davenport Rd, Unit 6 in Toronto. That is easy to reach from Liberty Village, King West, Queen West and the rest of the west end. All bookings go through the website or by contacting me directly, since I do not take walk‑ins.
How do I start a sleeve or back piece with you?
You start by booking a free 10–15 minute consultation. We look at placement, existing tattoos and your ideas. I explain how many sessions a sleeve, leg piece or tattoo back piece is likely to take and how we can stage it. You only book in once you feel clear on the plan.
When you are ready to talk about a bigger piece, I am here. Book a consultation and we will see what makes sense on your body and your timeline.
