tattoo artist near the junction
You know what you want your tattoo to feel like. Clean. Intentional. More than a random flash you picked in a rush on Dundas. You searched “junction tattoo” or “tattoo junction” because you want someone close enough to get to, but good enough to trust with a piece you will wear every day.
I work by appointment at 1800 Davenport Rd, Unit 6. That is a short trip north from The Junction, straight up from Dupont toward Davenport. Close enough that the commute is simple. Far enough that you can step out of your usual spots and sit in a room where the focus is only on your piece.
I am Mitch, the artist behind Mitch Bold Tattoos. I do fine line, realism, blackwork and bigger custom pieces that fit the body and tell a story.

Why come a little east from The Junction for a tattoo
If you live around The Junction, you already have options. You also know every shop has a different vibe. Some are busy, loud, fast. That works for quick flash. It is not always right for a first tattoo, a realism piece, or something large you have been planning for a while.
I book one client at a time. No walk-ins, no one looking over your shoulder. You get a quiet seat and unhurried time to talk through your idea and placement, and a piece drawn for your body.
My focus is:
- Fine line tattoos with clean, steady linework
- Realism and portrait-style work
- Dark and blackwork designs, from small pieces to full sleeves
If you bring a reference, I will not copy it line for line. I use it to understand what you like, then redraw it so it fits your anatomy and moves with you.
What I do with junction tattoo ideas
Most people who come from The Junction arrive with an idea, a screenshot or a rough sketch. Not a final design. That is the point. My job is to turn that into a tattoo that actually works on skin.
Here is how that usually looks.
1. Quick consult, in person or video
Before I book you in, we start with a free 10–15 minute consult. You can do that over video or in person at 1800 Davenport Rd. We look at your references, talk about size, placement and style, and see if I am the right fit for what you want.
If I do not think your idea will work as a fine line or blackwork piece, I say that up front. I turned down colour pieces for a reason. I would rather you find the right artist than end up with something that will not age well on your skin.
2. Booking and deposit
If you decide to go ahead, I book your session through my online system. I do not take DMs for bookings.
There is a $200 minimum per tattoo. Deposits are:
- $100 for small pieces
- $200 for medium
- $400 for a full day
Your deposit comes off the final price and is refundable if you cancel or move your appointment with at least 72 hours’ notice. If you cancel late or do not show, I keep the deposit and you put a new one down to rebook. I do not keep a card on file or charge anything extra.
No HST is added on top.
3. Design and placement
I build the design around your body. I think about how a sleeve flows when your arm bends, how a rib piece wraps when you turn, how a smaller tattoo sits with the ones you already have.
On the day, we go over the stencil on your skin before I set up. You see it, you sit with it, and we adjust placement until it feels right. Nothing starts until you are good with the layout.
4. The session
I work steady and calm. Machines, needles, gloves, surfaces: everything is set up fresh for you and broken down after.
You feel a sharp scratch or a hot line as the machine moves. I check in as we go, and we can take breaks when you need them. The time depends on the size and detail of your piece. Bigger realism and blackwork from Junction clients often end up as multi-session work; I plan that with you in advance.
5. Aftercare and touch-up
Before you leave, I wrap the tattoo and go over aftercare with you in plain language. What to wash with, what to avoid, what healing can look like.
If anything heals light or needs a small fix on my own work, I offer a free touch-up within one month of your appointment.
Why people pass closer shops for Mitch Bold Tattoos
I have spent 6 years focused on tattoos, learning at SJ Tattoo Studio from artists I respect, and building a style that is clean, detailed and dark. I focus on fine line realism and blackwork and I turn down work that does not fit that style, so the pieces you see on my Instagram and in my portfolio actually match what you can expect.
If you are coming from The Junction, you are not travelling across the city just to sit in another busy room. You are coming for one artist who:
- Draws everything custom for your body
- Keeps the space quiet and one-on-one
- Uses a modern, minimalist approach so the art and the skin both have room to breathe
If that is the kind of junction tattoo you had in mind, the extra few minutes to Davenport make sense.
What I do not offer
Being clear about limits helps us both.
I do:
- Fine line tattoos
- Realism tattoos
- Dark and blackwork pieces
- Modern / contemporary and traditional-style black ink
- Large scale, sleeves and multi-session work
- Touch-ups on my own tattoos
I do not work in colour.
If you are in The Junction and need colour, you will be better served by a different shop. If you want clean black ink, realism, or a bigger blackwork project, I am happy to talk.
