tattoo artist for markham

You have the design stuck in your head. You have looked at more than one Markham tattoo shop, but nothing quite matches the fine line or realism you want. Driving into Toronto feels like more effort, so you are asking if the right artist is worth the 35 minute trip.

My name is Mitch Bold. I am a fine line and realism tattoo artist working by appointment at 1800 Davenport Rd, Unit 6 in Toronto. Markham is about 37.2 km away, around a 35 minute drive.

If you are open to giving me the idea and some freedom with composition, I can turn it into a clean, detailed piece that sits right on your body in a way that feels intentional every time you see it.

Why Markham clients make the drive

You have options for a tattoo in Markham. What you may not find as easily is someone who lives in fine line realism, blackwork and modern composition every day.

I focus on:

  • Fine line pieces with crisp, consistent line weight
  • Realism, including portrait-style work in black and grey
  • Dark and contemporary blackwork, from small pieces to full sleeves

I turn down colour pieces on purpose. Saying no to work that does not fit my style lets me go deeper on the style you are actually searching for.

If you bring me a reference, I will not copy it line for line. I use it to understand what you like, then redraw it so the design flows with the muscles, joints and curves where it will sit. That is where a short drive starts to feel worth it.

What I do with your idea

You might come from Markham with a clear reference, or only a rough concept. Either way, the process is calm and simple.

  1. Free consult, video or in person.

You tell me what you are thinking and where you want it. I ask questions, look at any images you have and tell you honestly what will and will not age well.

  1. Design and composition.

I sketch in my own style, then adjust size and placement with you before we lock it in. This is where I think about how the tattoo will look from different angles and how it moves when you do.

  1. One client at a time.

On the day, it is just you and me in the chair. No rush. No walk-ins watching. I work steady and focused so lines stay clean and detail holds.

  1. Aftercare and touch-up.

I go through aftercare with you so you leave clear on how to look after the tattoo. If it is my work, I offer a free touch-up within one month.

The goal is not just a “tattoo markham” search result checked off. It is a piece you are still happy to wear years from now.

What I focus on

I have been tattooing for 6 years. I learned by working hard and watching the artists around me at SJ Tattoo Studio. No formal apprenticeship. Just a lot of time with the machine in my hand.

Today I focus on:

  • Fine line tattoos. Small to large pieces with precise, thin lines and a lot of negative space.
  • Realism tattoos. Faces, hands, objects and scenes drawn to feel three-dimensional in black and grey.
  • Dark / blackwork. Heavy blacks, contrast, and modern, graphic compositions.
  • Large scale work. Sleeves and multi-session projects where we can build a story over more than one sitting.

If you are coming from Markham for something simple and meaningful or planning a full sleeve, the same rule applies. Clean lines, balanced composition, and work built to sit well on your body.

Pricing, deposits and how booking works

You should not have to drive from Markham without a clear sense of how I book and charge.

  • Minimum charge: $200
  • Deposits: $100 small · $200 medium · $400 full day
  • Deposits are applied to the final price and are refundable
  • No HST on top
  • Free 10–15 minute consultation before every booking
  • Appointment only. No walk-ins

If you need to reschedule, I ask for 72 hours’ notice. A late cancellation or no-show means I keep the deposit, and you put down a new one to rebook. I do not keep a card on file or charge anything beyond the deposit.

Most Markham clients book the consult first, then plan one or more visits around their schedule here in Toronto.

05

What it feels like in the chair

Getting a tattoo is a big decision, especially if it is your first.

When you arrive, we go over the design again, place the stencil and check it from more than one angle. You have time to ask questions before I start.

During the tattoo, I talk you through what I am doing or keep it quiet if you prefer. I work one client at a time so the attention stays on your piece from first line to last wipe.

You leave with the tattoo wrapped, written aftercare, and my email if anything feels off once you are back home in Markham.

Why choose a Toronto artist for a Markham tattoo?

You are not driving into Toronto for a random flash piece you could get at any tattoo shop in Markham. You are coming because the style matters to you.

My whole brand is built around fine line realism and blackwork. Clean, modern compositions. No colour. No side services.

If that is the style you have been saving references for, I would rather you drive past a closer option and get the work done right than settle for something that does not feel like you.
