Why clients drive in from Oakville

Most people who come to me already have options closer to home. They still choose to get on the Gardiner and make the trip because they care more about the work than about saving a few minutes on the drive.

I focus on fine line tattoos, black and grey realism and darker blackwork. No colour. Just clean, detailed pieces with room to breathe.

I have been tattooing for 6 years. I learned at SJ Tattoo Studio in Toronto by watching, asking questions and putting in hours on the machine. That time shows in the consistency of the linework, the way shading sits, and how a piece reads from across the room as well as up close.

If you are coming from Oakville, you get the same thing my Toronto clients get. One-on-one time. No walk-ins. No rush.

What I do differently from most tattoo shops in Oakville

Traditional tattoo shops work on volume. Multiple artists in one room. Flash on the walls. People cycling through all day.

I work the opposite way. One client at a time. One project at a time.

You bring me an idea, photos or references. I look at the flow of your body, the size you are thinking, and where it sits next to any tattoos you already have. Then I sketch a design that belongs to you instead of copying something line for line.

Styles I work in most:

  • Fine line tattoos with soft shading and detail
  • Realism and portrait-style work in black and grey
  • Modern blackwork and darker, graphic pieces
  • Large scale work like sleeves and multi-session projects

If you are used to walking into a tattoo shop in Oakville and picking from a book, this is a different pace. More conversation upfront. More focus on composition. The goal is a tattoo that still looks intentional ten years from now.

What it is like to sit with me

The space I work in is simple and clean. Lights bright enough to see every line. Music low. No crowd of people coming and going.

We start with a free 10–15 minute consultation, video or in person. You tell me what you have in mind and where you want it. I ask questions about size, placement and any past work in the area. If I think something will not age well, blur out or fight your anatomy, I tell you.

On the day of your appointment:

  • We confirm the design and placement together.
  • I stencil the piece and we check it in the mirror from different angles.
  • Once you are happy, I start working.

Most people describe the session as focused and calm. You can bring headphones, or we can talk. There is time for breaks. I would rather take a little longer and have the linework exactly right.

After you leave, I stay available by email or Instagram if you have questions about how it is healing. If anything needs a small touch-up on my own work within one month, that is free.

Pricing, deposits and policies

My minimum charge is $200. I keep pricing simple and clear.

Deposits:

  • $100 for small pieces
  • $200 for medium pieces
  • $400 for full-day bookings

Your deposit comes off the final price and is refundable when you give at least 72 hours’ notice to reschedule or cancel. If you cancel late or do not show up, I keep the deposit and you place a new one to rebook. I do not keep a card on file or charge anything extra.

I do not charge HST. You must be 18 or older and bring government photo ID to every session.

If your first question is “what are your rates?”, the best next step is a consult. Once I see the size and detail you want, I can tell you what to expect before you commit to a date.

A reason to pass closer options

Oakville has good tattoo shops. The clients who travel come in because they want someone who lives in fine line and black and grey realism every day and who is willing to say no when an idea will not heal or age well.

That is how I work. I turn down colour pieces. I care more about what you are still proud to wear in a decade than about adding one more booking to the calendar.

If that sounds like the right fit, the distance between Oakville and Toronto stops being the main factor. The right artist matters more.

Coming to Toronto from Oakville

I work by appointment at 1800 Davenport Rd, Unit 6, Toronto, ON M6N 4X3. From Oakville, the drive is 38 min. Many clients park once, walk in, and head straight back after the session.

Hours are Mon–Sat, 12–8. I do not take walk-ins, so every visit is booked ahead of time through the site. That keeps the space quiet and the focus on the work in front of me.

If you are planning a larger piece or a sleeve, the repeat trip from Oakville becomes part of the process. We book sessions with enough time between them for your body to heal and for the story of the piece to build.
